Terms and conditions

Black and White IT provides on-site computer support, maintenance, repair and advice services to both Residential and Business customers. The services are provided to the Customer subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service listed below.

"No Fix No Fee" Policy

The "no fix no fee" policy applies to Residential customers only, and does NOT apply to Business customers.
If Black and White IT can offer a solution but the customer chooses not to continue then the customer will be charged the standard rate for time spent on the customers premises.
If Black and White IT diagnoses a fault with the customers Internet Provider, even when the Provider denies any fault the customer will be charged the standard rate for time spent on the customers premises.
If Black and White IT is prevented from resolving an issue because the customer does not have the correct software media, drivers or software serial numbers the customer will be charged the standard rate for time spent on the customers premises.

Customer Rates

Black and White IT will attend the Customer's premises at the pre-arranged time.
The Customer will pay for the services provided, at the following rates:
Residential customers: First hour charged in full - £30.00.
For each subsequent quarter hour - £7.50
Business customers: First hour charged in full - £35.00.
For each subsequent quarter hour - £8.75
Residential and business customers outside of 50 mile radius: First hour charged in full - £50.00. For each subsequent quarter hour - £8.75

Customer Cancellation

Cancellation of any appointment must be advised to Black and White IT no later than 2 hours on the day of the appointment. Black and White IT reserves the right to invoice any Customer where cancellation occurs less than two hours prior to any appointment.

Customer Payment

The Customer will pay Black and White IT the amount stated on the provided invoice at the time Black and White IT attends the Customer's premises. Black and White IT will endeavour to diagnose and/or remedy the problem(s) described by the Customer at the start of the appointment. If the discussed problem(s) has not been resolved by the end of the first hour, Black and White IT will discuss with the Customer whether they wish to proceed to resolution. The Customer can end the appointment at any time. On the Customers request to end the appointment, the customer will pay Black and White IT the amount incurred in respect of any additional time, if any, beyond the first hour's attendance. Payment is to be made in cash, or cheque.

Customer Confidentiality

Black and White IT will maintain the confidentiality of the Customer's data and will not pass on any personal Customer information to any third party save in the event it is lawfully required to do so.
Black and White IT reserves the right to refuse the provision of any services for reasons including (but not limited to) the presence of unlicensed or pirated software, and material of an obscene/pornographic nature on a Customer's computer. If for any reason Black and White IT terminates the requested services the Customer shall remain liable to pay Black and White IT, the charges incurred in respect of time spent at the customers residence.

Liabilities

Black and White IT accepts no liability for any problem(s) it may not be able to remedy due to any matter beyond its control including(but not limited to) the condition, the age, and the specification of the Customer's hardware or software, the Customer's failure to provide appropriate software discs, drivers or software serial numbers or any fault with the Customer's Internet Service Provider.

Goods supplied by Black and White IT

Black and White IT has no liability as to the suitability for the performance of the services, of any product manufactured, sold or supplied by any third party, whether or not that product has been recommended to the Customer by Black and White IT. Any hardware, software or equipment provided to the Customer shall remain the property of Black and White IT until full payment is received.

Customer Complaints Policy

In the event of any dissatisfaction with the services provided by Black and White IT, the Customer should immediately contact Black and White IT on 07970 376648 or email info@blackandwhiteit.co.uk Black and White IT will make an appointment with the customer to rectify the issue. If the customer dissatisfaction was due to issues beyond the control of Black and White IT, the Customer will be liable to pay for the appointment at the normal rates charged by Black and White IT. If the problem arose directly as a result of any work carried out by Black and White IT previous appointments no further charge shall be made to the customer.

Business Users

£35 for the first hour
£17.50 per half hour after that

Home Users

£30 for the first hour
£15 per half hour after that

Home Users Fair Price Policy

Black and White IT provide a fair price policy to home users, if we feel the problem was solved in a short amount of time then no fee or small fee only shall be applied to cover the call out costs.
